True Freedom

So,
I was out for a walk tonight and listening to some worship music and
this came on my playlist. I am a huge fan of Bethel Music. It is
powerful and it can break you to your very core. As I was listening to
this song, I could feel God speaking to be me...

The truth given to me was...
Why do you worry so much?
Why do you fear so much?
Why do you not fully trust?
Why don't you give it all up to me?

See,
we hold on to so much stuff. One of the biggest is our time, talent,
and possessions. We are so afraid that if we do not maintain control
(or a the image of control) then we will lose everything. Guess what,
you can either give it to God or the world will take it, but you control
NOTHING!

God
liberates us when we cast off our meager and pitiful attempts to
control our lives. We must give it ALL TO HIM and then we are no
longer slaves. I am not sure who said it, but there is a famous quote
that says, "Show me your bank statement and show me your calendar, and
I’ll tell you where your true priorities are." If these are not FULLY
committed to Christ, then you are currently serving the god of self and
self control. Give these two items along with your life to Christ and
you will experience freedom!

Allow me to share a few of the lyrics...
I am surrounded
By the arms of the father
I am surrounded
By songs of deliverance
We've been liberated
From our bondage
Were the sons and the daughters
Let us sing our freedom

Look at those first few words from the bridge... I AM SURROUNDED BY THE ARMS OF THE FATHER.  He is protecting you, He is freeing you, He is supporting you, HE IS DELIVERING YOU!  Trust Him and be not afraid!

I hope this blesses you tonight!

God Bless!

Shepherd their hearts

This past week of tragedy points out a critical flaw in the parenting style of America! What is this flaw?  It is the flaw of failure of shepherding the hearts of our children!  We are so busy as a nation appeasing our children, befriending our children, and trying to make our children happy at any expense that we have failed in the simple act shepherding them. We ask the question of our children, what do YOU  want to do, what makes YOU happy, how do YOU want to do this and that?  When did we stop asking ourselves, "What is best for them?"  I believe that at the time that Children became the center of the household, rather than Christ guiding the parents as the center of the household, we lost our way.  PARENTS... Stop and ask yourself, if you had the same decision making ability in your arsenal at birth-18 years old as we put in the arsenal of our children's hands today, would you have made wise decisions for your entire household? NO!!!! ...

On the Right Path

I am on the right path.  This is something that I can say with great certainty at this point.  How can I say this with assurance?   Well, people having been speaking truth into my life over the past couple of weeks.  I am not going to lie.  On Monday, October 15th, I woke up and said, “What am I doing?  I just quit my job of 11 years... with no prospect of a job!”  I spent some time on the road that day going to recover my camper from Talladega and had time to think and pray in the truck.  God flooded my heart with peace.  Peace that this was a call from him, not my flesh.   Still, I was wondering... Wondering what I was supposed to do now.  I knew that God was calling me to something that goes beyond just an impact on youth, and instead something that impacts the family as a whole.  I was feeling deep in my heart that this was a call to pastorate or a teaching/preaching/next steps ministry.   How did this come on my h...
