Michael’s Message

All of us who know Christ are standing at the edge of something big!  Why?  Because of the fact that we are indwelled by the Spirit of God and empowered by Him.  The big thing is different for each of us and the biggest thing that we are standing on the edge of is an eternity with Him.  But the big does not have to wait for eternity.  There are big things that Gd wants to do in our life now.  So what is holding us back?  The truth is it is our own fears and insecurities coupled with the desire to please others rather than Christ.  Far too often we allow the opinions and desires of other people to dictate what we will do for Christ rather than Christ himself.  You takes those opinions and then mash them together in the blender of life with our predicting fears and it is a recipe for a life full of doing NOTHING!   God desires to do exceptionally great things in our lives.   He takes us to the edge of a precipice, shows us the won...

Monday Moments with Michael Week #5 Acts 2 Click the read more button to see the video! 42  All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper [ i ] ), and to prayer. 43  A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. 44  And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. 45  They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. 46  They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity [ j ] — 47  all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. This blog past has credits by Melanie Holiday.  Why?  Well, unbeknownst to her, God was using her to bring cheer and joy to my downcast heart.  Mel has had a rough journey this past year in her battle with cancer (cancer sucks BTW) and God was using her to help me realize that God still has my journey in His very capable hands.  Now, what does all of this mean?  Well, time for some back story and then some really old backstory.  Backstory on why I needed cheering up.  This journey of Sabbatical does not date back to October when I resigned.  No, it is a 2 year old journey, with God doing the most stuff since July.  The journey started December 2016 when God started doing something in my life that He does in the lives of people who He is preparing for change.  He makes them restless and the status quo is no longer acceptable and will never be acceptable.  Sometimes He is going to move them, sometimes He is going to use them as a...

Monday Moments with Michael - Week 3 Working our way through the book of Acts and this week we began Acts 2 Video of the Bible Study is below. 

I am on the right path.  This is something that I can say with great certainty at this point.  How can I say this with assurance?   Well, people having been speaking truth into my life over the past couple of weeks.  I am not going to lie.  On Monday, October 15th, I woke up and said, “What am I doing?  I just quit my job of 11 years... with no prospect of a job!”  I spent some time on the road that day going to recover my camper from Talladega and had time to think and pray in the truck.  God flooded my heart with peace.  Peace that this was a call from him, not my flesh.   Still, I was wondering... Wondering what I was supposed to do now.  I knew that God was calling me to something that goes beyond just an impact on youth, and instead something that impacts the family as a whole.  I was feeling deep in my heart that this was a call to pastorate or a teaching/preaching/next steps ministry.   How did this come on my h...
